We are working with Pork NZ and partners to review two key qualifications for the industry group.

The qualification and unit standards associated with the qualifications have now passed their scheduled review date, so this is an opportunity to investigate whether they are still fit for purpose.

We will draw on the expertise of industry to ensure that the qualifications, and any standards that we review or develop, serve the needs of ākonga/learners and are up to date with current industry requirements. 

Project scope:
  • New Zealand Certificate in Pork Production (Stockperson) with an optional strand in Farrowing Care (Level 3) (55-75 credits)
  • New Zealand Certificate in Pork Production (Management)with an optional strand in Pig Farm Production Planning (Level 4) (100-140 credits)
  • 31-unit standards within the Pork Production domain, all due for review by December 2023 and one unit standard due in December 2024
Key milestones:
  • Internal planning: February 2025
  • Project launch: April 2025
  • Review, develop and confirm – content, standards, micro-credentials (if required): May-June 2025
