Export Revenue

There is a long-term downward trend in export revenue from cut flowers and foliage. COVID-19 had a significant impact on the export of cut flowers, and export revenue for 2022-2023 is nearly half of what it was for 2018-2019 ($25 million). The export value for seeds has bounced back since the effects of COVID-19 on imports/exports, and reached $106 million in 2022-2023 which represents 64% of exports for cut flowers, plants, seeds, bulbs, and moss.

Key export markets for Nursery, Turf and Gardening products include Continental Europe (excluding United Kingdom and Ireland), Asia, and North America. For 2022-2023, the export value of products over $5 million was $62 million for vegetable seeds and $7 million for bulbs (tulips) to Continental Europe, followed by $28 million of vegetable seeds, $14 million of bulbs (lilium) and $7 million of cut flowers to Asia.
