  • Fruit export revenue is expected to rise to again for the year ending June 2025 as the industry recovers from adverse weather conditions over 2022-2023.  Kiwifruit had a record crop production in 2024, boosting exports.
  • Kiwifruit accounts for around 40% of horticulture’s export revenue, with China and the European Union being the largest markets. 
  • Fruit’s contribution to GDP fell again for the year ending 2024, however, it is forecast to increase over the next five years particularly for the Apple, Citrus and Other fruit and nut growing industries.
